Example 1:
During the coal dust conveyance by means of ventilation in power stations elbows are used for the transport in various directions. The complicated elbow consisted ouf of fine grained steel and has been replaced by VAUTID wear plates with VAUTID 100 hardfacing. Service life is extended by a factor of 5.
Example 2:
In a French iron and steel works red-hot coke is delivered and conveyed. The design competence of VAUTID changed the coke plunger in such a way that VAUTID wear plates made out of high tempereature resistent steel hardfaced with VAUTID 145 were used. The working temperature amounts to 750 - 850 °C. Thereby the service life could be extended by a factor of 3.
Example 3:
The "water cooled chute" serves as a conveyor for the sinter which is burnt in the furnace. The sinter falls out of the furnace and onto the chute which is water cooled and hardfaced with VAUTID 145. It slides into the cooler and is transported on conveyor belts. The service life must be one year because an extraordinary maintenance is not feasible due to production reasons. With VAUTID 145 this objective was reached.
